Leading the Charge: The Leadership Challenge - An Invitation!
An invitation to a workshop at the Credit Union Central of Ontario’s 68th Annual Meeting and Conference, Toronto, Ontario, Friday, April 4th, 2008 at 10.30 a.m.
‘Media reports have bemoaned the dearth of quality leaders to meet the current and future needs of Canadian organizations. Researchers in this field have found that credit unions face leadership challenges in three areas: supply that is having enough young potential leadership candidates employed at the credit union; successfully training and retaining young leaders; and sufficient profile to attract potential leaders to the credit union. This workshop will not only define the challenge, but will point out opportunities and describe best practices in leadership development. Building leaders demands long-term, strategic planning and commitment.’
Françoise Morissette, Faculty and Fellow at Queen’s University’s Industrial Relations Centre and co-author of Made in Canada Leadership, is the keynote speaker for this workshop. Ms. Morissette will address the challenges that Canada is facing in the leadership field and what we need to do to ensure an abundant and reliable supply of competent leaders in all sectors of the economy and regions of the country.
Brigitte Goulard, Vice-President, Cooperative Partnerships Division, Desjardins Group will join her to present some of the solutions and best practices Desjardins is putting in place to address these very issues.
Join us on Friday, April 4, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Fairmount Royal York Hotel, Toronto, Ontario!
